First-order reorientation transition of the flux-line lattice in CaAlSi.
The flux-line lattice in CaAlSi has been studied by small-angle neutron scattering. A well-defined hexagonal flux-line lattice is seen just above H(c1) in an applied field of only 54 Oe. A 30° reorientation of this vortex lattice has been observed in a very low field of 200 Oe. This reorientation transition appears to be first-order and could be explained by nonlocal effects. The magnetic field...
متن کاملTemperature dependence of the flux line lattice transition into square symmetry in superconducting LuNi2B2C.
We have investigated the temperature dependence of the H parallel to c flux line lattice structural phase transition from square to hexagonal symmetry, in the tetragonal superconductor LuNi2B2C ( T(c) = 16.6 K). At temperatures below 10 K the transition onset field, H2(T), is only weakly temperature dependent. Above 10 K, H2(T) rises sharply, bending away from the upper critical field. This con...
متن کاملPositional order of the pinned Abrikosov flux - line lattice in samples of finite thickness
We study translational correlations of the vortex center of mass positions of the Abrikosov flux-line lattice in superconducting samples of finite thickness L (along the direction of flux-lines). The Larkin correlation lengths for the center of mass mode of the flux lines in the presence of point and correlated disorder are computed, and we find that in the case of point disorder the average (i...
متن کاملFlux-line lattice distortion in PrOs4Sb12.
We report that the flux-line lattice in the cubic superconductor Pr(Os4Sb12 is strongly distorted from an ideal hexagonal lattice at very low temperatures in a small applied field. We attribute this to the presence of gap nodes in the superconducting state on at least some Fermi-surface sheets.
متن کاملFirst-Order Logic in the Medvedev Lattice
Kolmogorov introduced an informal calculus of problems in an attempt to provide a classical semantics for intuitionistic logic. This was later formalised by Medvedev and Muchnik as what has come to be called the Medvedev and Muchnik lattices. However, they only formalised this for propositional logic, while Kolmogorov also discussed the universal quantifier. We extend the work of Medvedev to fi...
